Update on Mud Creek Restoration PDF Print E-mail

Please be advised that Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is preparing to undertake Phase 1 of channel restoration works along Mud Creek Reach 6, which is located along Moore Park Ravine between Moore Avenue and the Heath Street Pedestrian Bridge.

In general, Phase 1 involves extension of an existing storm sewer outfall, slope regrading, and restoration with native plantings. Implementation of Phase 1 is expected to commence during the week of October 10, 2016 and is expected to continue until early December 2016. Final site restoration (i.e. native tree and shrub plantings) will take place during the spring of 2017 as weather conditions permit.

Due to limited space for construction equipment and materials and the requirement to ensure public safety, TRCA will need to close the section of the Beltline Trail from Moore Avenue to the Heath Street Pedestrian Bridge during construction. Trail closures will be in effect Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. TRCA understands the value of the trail system to the general public therefore the trail will be reopened whenever possible including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Project information signs will be installed later this week in the vicinity of the project site to advise the public of the impending works and trail closures.
