Come Help Cut Down Invasive Knotweed! Print

We need your help removing a fast-growing patch knotweed on June 16, 2018 at 10am at the Avoca entrance to the Yellow Creek Ravine.

Background: Japanese knotweed is an invasive plant that looks a bit like bamboo only it is not so passive.
Its roots can break through asphalt and concrete, it competes with other vegetation to kill it off and degrade wildlife habitats and it spreads easily and must be disposed of carefully.

City Staff will be showing community volunteers how to remove knotweed.  For more details click here.
